Cusco and the surrounding area is a combination tour visiting 2 very important places in the city of the historic Cusco such as: the cathedral of the city and the temple of the sun (Qoricancha) and with 4 archaeological centers outside the city and the most important and impressive of them is saqsayhuaman an archaeological complex of great monumental beauty.
Welcome and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon approximately 1:10 p.m. We will pick you up from the hotel and begin our tour of the city, starting with the Cathedral of Cusco that houses in its walls artistic treasures of incalculable value, is considered by many the most beautiful in South America. Then we will visit the Qorikancha, this wonderful temple is considered sacred since it housed Inca priests in charge of worshiping the Sun God. We will continue our guided tour of the archaeological centers located around the city of Cusco; Beginning with Sacsayhuaman, its Quechua name means “satisfied hawk” was built with huge blocks of stone. In the time of the Incas it was called the “sun house” and it was a great religious center of great importance in the local tradition. Then we will visit Qenqo Quechua word that means “Labyrinth” coined by the Spaniards for its labyrinthine underground galleries and small canals carved in zigzag. We will continue our tour visiting Puka-Pukara, called the red fortress, it is built with stones with that color tone and finally we will arrive at Tambomachay which was an Inca temple dedicated to worship the water.
Our tour ends at the Plaza de Armas in Cusco, at approximately 6:00 p.m.
